VIEW PARK CHARACTERS
The main characters of the View Park saga are members of the rich, powerful and dysfunctional Chase family.
Steven Chase (The Conquerer) - Founder & CEO of Chase Corporation
Born to a middle class family in Chicago, Steven (53) put himself through college and began a marketing carer in beauty products. As a young man, he left to go off on his own and start Chase Corporation in Los Angeles. With his marketing genius and his wife's powerful family connections, he built Chase Corp into a Fortune 500 brand of multi-products for women of color. While building the company, he has amassed a massive amount of wealth that has allowed the Chase family to be known as the richest, and most scandalous, black family in America. He adores his wife and always promises to make up for all those times he has missed with his children, but is tough as nails in business and can be even tougher with his own sons.
Janet Chase (The Socialite) - Head of the Chase Foundation
Raised in New York wealth among the black elite, Janet (51) is the perfection of balance in her role as wife, mother, society maven and philanthropist. She has her hands full running the family charity, their massive 11,000-square foot View Park mansion, as well as all the other homes the family owns around the world. However, her most important job is architect of the Chase family image. Her life has been building up her husband and preparing her children for success as their birthright. On the outside she appears flawless and in control, when in reality, the constant drama her children cause has her teetering on the edge most of the times. Not to mention the younger women who are always eager to replace her job spending the Chase billions.
Carter Chase (The Reluctant Gentleman) - Head of Chase Law, LLC
Expected to join Chase Corporation after graduating from Harvard Law, oldest son Carter (30) disappointed his family by going off on his own. It was a decision among many, including his choice to become an atheist, that has caused constant stress and tension between Carter and Steven. The conflict between him and his father seems to have existed forever with no end in strife. Still, Carter is eager to please his father while not allowing Steven's constant manipulations to get to the best of him. He is one of L.A.'s top lawyers and most eligible bachelors and he is enjoying that life to the fullest. Not interested in being tied down, he is always seen dating the most gorgeous women in L.A. He rules with a quiet, calm dominance that defies the drive inside of him.
Michael Chase (The Favorite) - EVP - Finance, Chase Corporation
Embracing his privilege, Michael (29) is fiercely competitive and doesn't fight fair. Although he is closer to their father than Carter, Michael still feels, as second born son, he has to prove himself to Steven. It's an obsession that often interferes with what is most important in his life. In contrast to the calm of his brother, Michael is a firecracker and sometimes acts before he thinks. He does the dirty work with pleasure and always comes out clean. His goal is to take over Chase Corporation from his father and his only weakness is his wife Kimberly and their twin sons. Standing in his way is the secret that he and his wife have gone to painstaking measures to hide from his family and the rest of the world.
Leigh Chase (The Angel) - Pediatrician
The bleeding heart of the family and oldest daughter, Leigh (26) has always devoted her life to helping others. The only Chase child that hasn't brought an embarrassing scandal to the family...at least not yet, she is often pressured by her mother, whom she feels she must always please even to her own detriment, to be the face of the family to the public. Unlucky in love so far, her mother is eager to marry her to someone who meets the family's very high standards. She is trusting and naive at times and goes out of her way to avoid the label of debutante. She wants to the world to know that having a million dollar trust fund doesn't mean she isn't real and doesn't know what it means to be black in America.
Haley Chase (The Taker) - Debutante
Haley (22) lives for herself, always taking what she wants and never giving in return. She is the baby of the family and is spoiled rotten. She is a seductive beauty that men are always chasing. She spends her Daddy's money and uses everyone for her own amusement. She leaves disaster in her wake, watching her mother clean up her messes. The only thing that keeps her under control are the terms of her trust fund. Haley has an evil streak that causes endless amounts of drama. She is always at odds with a father she doesn't believe loves her and is always trying to push her away.
Kimberly Chase (The Outsider) - Wife & Mother
Kimberly (25) is an exceptionally beautiful young woman with a lot of secrets. She left a troubled childhood in Detroit for a modeling career in Manhattan. There, she met Michael and an unplanned pregnancy ended her career as a model and began her career as Mrs. Michael Chase. She could have never imagined this lifestyle, the money, the jewels, the travel and privilege, but even more surprising is finding an amazing man like Michael who loves her and actually treats her well and two wonderful kids she can give everything to. She will do anything to hold onto it and that includes fighting Janet, who reminds her every day that she doesn't belong and needs to go.
The other family that plays heavily into the storyline is the middle-class Jackson family, whose members seem to find themselves constantly caught up in the drama that surrounds the Chases.
Charlie Jackson (The Do Right Man) - View Park Chief of Police
Charlie (47) came from the Caribbean to Los Angeles as a kid with nothing in his pocket and made his way. Now, he's View Park's chief of police and head of a family any man would be proud of. He is known for his strong conviction and impeccable reputation as an honest person who always takes the high road. He is no stranger to the Chase family as he has witnessed them going above his head to cover up their wrongdoings and get away with everything. He is certain, now that he is chief of police, their days of buying their way out of trouble are over.
Nikki Jackson (The Artist) - Owner, Hue Art Gallery
A well known local artist and owner of Hue Art Gallery, Nikki’s (45) refusal to compromise her integrity has kept her from getting any bigger. A twenty-first century hippie, she lives by honesty, peace and liberal thinking. She fell in love with Charlie and married him right after graduating from high school. She tries to teach her children about the real meaning of life and warn them against the dangers that come with money and privilege.
Avery Jackson (The Girl Next Door) - Owner, Essentials Salon
Goodhearted, pretty and romantic, Avery (26) is the kind of woman men want to marry. She’s independent with a good head for business and sticks to her values. Her hair salon has just opened a second location and her personal life is on track with her recent engagement to salesman boyfriend, Alex. She is loyal, with a spark that makes her something to be reckoned with if crossed. She can be left alone in the moral center at times, but sticks to her principles.
Sean Jackson (The Boy Scout) - Detective, View Park Police Dept.
Graduating top of his class at the academy, Sean (24) just became the youngest detective in L.A. County history. An old fashioned, conservative guy, he sees everything in black or white. He's a perfectionist and doesn't like distractions. Although he has proven himself time and time again, he still feels he must live up to his father’s reputation.
Taylor Jackson (The Schemer) - Student, Spelman College
Seeming dangerously innocent, Taylor (19) is always thinking and planning on how to get where she wants to be. For her, fulfilling her dreams of a modeling career and rising above her middle-class status are worth whatever it takes.
